We’ve shared these searches with you – check them out!

  1. Wassily Chair by Marcel Breuer

Inspired by steel used for bicycle handlebars, Breuer originally designed the chair for himself. One of his colleagues, Wassily Kandinsky, loved the piece, so Breuer made one for him. When the chair was rereleased, in the 1960s, it was named after Wassily, his OG fan.

Think lamps with metallic finishes like chrome or blackened steel echo the chair’s tubular frame, Bauhaus or mid-century modern-inspired designs, and sculptural statement lamps. Check out the lamp list here

2. Barcelona Chair by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich

This was designed for the German Pavilion at the International Exposition of 1929 in Barcelona. Its timeless design emphasizes simplicity, functionality, and elegance. A Perfect option for a study or mid century modern home space.

Lamps that complement feature clean lines, geometric shapes, and metallic finishes like chrome or stainless steel. Mid-century modern or contemporary styles, such as arched floor lamps or minimalist desk lamps, harmonize beautifully. Check it out here

3. LCW Chair by Charles and Ray Eames

LCW or “Lounge Chair Wood” made out of molded plywood was named “Design of the Century” by Time in 1999. The magazine’s 1999 end-of-the-century issue stated that Ray and Charles “Eames took technology created to meet a wartime need (for splints) and used it to make something elegant, light and comfortable. Much copied but never bettered.”

Try lamps with organic shapes and natural materials to reflect the sculptural plywood design. Go with warm wood finishes, soft diffused lighting, and neutral or earthy tones. Check out the lamps here
